This a full featured home theater receiver based on the award winning SR5600. So in addition to 95 Watts x 7, HD component video switching, video upconversion, and typical second zone operation, once plugged into the wall it is ready to utilize your house wiring for digital second zone audio. DAvED (pronounced David) stands for Digital Audio via Electrical Distribution. It is a great new method for distributing multi-room audio. Simply connect the main unit into your home theater system, take the client unit wherever you wish, plug it in and you have second zone sound! Note: This product will distribute mult-room audio in conjunction with A/V products that can distribute DAvED technology. Additional Marantz ZC4001 Client Receiver Speakers may be purchased separately.

Clear Sound

I found out about Marantz receivers after visiting the local Magnolia Audio. I was actually looking for speakers and they were using a Marantz receiver to drive the speakers I was interested in. I was impressed by the receiver and eventually purchased it on Amazon.This unit is very sturdy, high quality, and has a nice finish.The sound is incredible. Very clean, clear and undistorted. I love it.I am steaming my music from the iMac G5 via an Airport Express and the music sounds fantastic.

I highly recommend this receiver."Digital Audio via Electrical Distribution"(DAvED) is so convenient for the bathroom, kitchen, garage, etc. Great technology! Whatever audio you have going into you Marantz ZR6001sp (server) the boom box(client)plays it without effecting what you already have playing out the main receiver (server)... one catch, The Client must be on same electrical phase as the server.No HDMI Switching, but oh well... It has upconvert for component and enough A/V Surround Sound Theater options that any more is overkill, for any receiver.The amp is strong and it adds so much to my theater. Movies are a lot more effective.

After my son fried my old and faithful Yamaha receiver, I scouted around and decided after a lot of research on the Marantz. I'd heard a lot of good things about this brand, and I am happy to report that they are all true. I wanted this receiver primarily for listening to music (so I'm old-fashioned, I listen to SACDs, not just mp3s)and secondarily for my home theatre. The only negative which I can possibly come up with for this receiver is the lack of true HDMI connectivity - which I think is a small compromise for the quality of sound and the build-quality. A great buy, if you can pick it up for what I paid - the list price is ~1200K, and I got it for under 400. Additionally, the sound transmission through my powerlines to the separate receiver works seamlessly.
