5Well worth it
By JonathonRocks
I bought this bass a few years ago with the hopes of having a decent, midrange bass that I would be proud to play out with but not be devastated if anything happened while out gigging. Well, this has been my go-to bass ever since and I'd really hate to see anything happen to it. It's got the looks and the feel of a much more expensive bass - the finish is awesome and the bass is so comfortable to play. Night after night it holds its own and has been more than I thought it would ever be. Not only does it receive lots of compliments on looks (the amberburst is beautiful btw), but the sound is just awesome. Run it straight into the amp with the amp's eq settings flattened and you'll find this bass is very capable on its own. The lows are well defined, there is a nice punch to the mids, and the highs round it all out with a nice sparkle. Adjust the onboard eq to your taste but overall this bass does lean towards a modern sound in that it is very clean and crisp regardless of it's eq settings. Don't mistake that for a lack of "tweakability" though, it definitely has different voices - you're just not going to coax an old school dub bass sound from it. But if you're reading a review on a Spector bass, you probably already know that and want to stand out a little from the others (P's and J's are great but a bit boring). Fellow rockers, this is the one for you.

4A pleasantly voiced closed back can for those seeking a laid back sound
By Tyrell Goetz
Koss has produced a very interesting headphone here. It does not sound like any other I've listened to, which is not necessarily a bad thing.First off, the treble energy is very recessed and laid back for a headphone claiming to be a hifi can. The tonal balance here is very dark. I would guesstimate that these cans are down at least 12dB at 10Khz compared to my reference headphones, the AKG K701. It does not appear to be a limitation of the driver but rather a deliberate design choice by Koss in the voicing of this product. Impressively it does not hold back these cans as much as you might think in areas such as high frequency detail retrieval and soundstage/imaging. Cymbals sound crisp and well defined with good air and separation for a closed back can in this price range, the sound is just rather recessed and muted. It results in a very mellow sound that places strong emphasis on the lower midrange and male vocals. There is definitely no risk of listening fatigue or sibilance/harshness on these cans. They fare surprisingly well with classical music, something I was not expecting considering the lack of treble energy. The midrange is again mellow and offers good detail retrieval and dynamics for this price, but it is definitely not a reference or flat sound. They are very colored, and whether you find this to your liking or not will be hard to say. I personally find that it depends upon the vocals in the song being listened to. The midrange on these Koss flatter most male vocals (with a couple of exceptions), but tend to leave female vocals recessed and flat sounding. They tend to emphasize texture and chord movement within the frequencies they are exaggerating, so certain male solo performances come out with a very engaging and enjoyable performance, if not a realistic sounding one. If you are a stickler for accuracy these cans will not be to your liking, but their colorations make certain types of music quite enjoyable to listen to in my opinion.Bass is strong, a bit too strong in the 100-200 Hz region, most likely made worse by internal resonance from the closed back design. Leading edges are detectable in most music, though the drivers seem to struggle to retrieve micro dynamics and other detail in the lower frequencies when things get very busy. They do alright for the price Amazon sells them for. Solo drum lines are taut and crisp with good punch for a phone in this price class. They also offer good weight to bass attack, though sometimes they sound a bit soupy and heavy if the primary frequency of the bass line is around or above 100Hz. Detail aside, the bass response itself is pretty fast and tight when driven by a quality amp. On a DAP or cheap receiver the bass is heavy, sloppy and dominates the musical presentation. They feel reasonably flat down to perhaps 40Hz and taper off sharply below that, but they will hit hard and pretty deep if that is what you are looking for.Soundstage and imaging are, considering my comments about the treble response, impressive. One would expect the sound to be stuffy and closed-in, but instrument separation is remarkably good for the tonal balance present. Instruments are often present considerably "outside the head" when called for by the recording, though they offer overall a pretty intimate "in your head" listening experience like you'd expect from a closed back headphone design. Still, there is good ambiance and a full headstage befitting a proper hifi can when listening to the right recording.Build quality is fair, not great. They appear to be made of metal from the picture. They are not. It is all painted plastic. Nothing feels flimsy per se, but I wonder how long the folding hinges will hold up over years of use. Comfort is a mixed bag. The headband is very comfortable, more so than my K701 in fact, but there is enough clamping force that the cups tend to irritate pressure points around your jaw over time. Worse is the matter of your ears getting hot and sweaty over long listening periods. In a warm room I can't make it more than 30 minutes before my ears are too hot to be comfortable anymore, and moisture condensation builds up on the plastic guard covering the drivers quite easily. I've actually wiped full drops off of them before, and this condensation must be getting to the drivers as well. I've thought of asking Koss directly if this presents a reliability concern for them, but Koss has been making closed cans with this type of rubber cup design for decades, so they must know what they're doing. The cups themselves seal around your ear quite securely, and block a great deal of ambient noise. The sound is affected noticeably by how you position them on your ears. I found that sliding them up and back until the front tips of my ears touch the edges of the cup, then centering them slightly after that produced the best tonal balance.Overall, I am pleased with the performance they offer for the price paid. These are a very laid back sounding can and those seeking a high energy headphone with a "sparkle" or attack in it's treble should immediately look elsewhere. I would describe them as neither warm nor cold sounding, just very mellow with treble energy pushed to the back of the presentation. The midrange is never harsh and offers a colored but detailed and often very enjoyable listening experience with powerful bass to back it up. I bought these knowing their reputation for recessed treble energy and find that, for certain types of music, they present exactly the relaxing laid back sound I was looking for. You will not be getting listening fatigue with these headphones, that much is certain. I don't know if they would be worth their full retail price, but for the price they are selling at I think their performance is worthy purely on a technical level. So long as you understand their dark tonal presentation and the fact that they were clearly never intended to sound accurate (non-fatiguing being the motive) the MV1 proves to be an enjoyable headphone and a decent value within it's class.Final note: For those who worry about break-in, I found that their sound changed mildly over the course of their first 100 hours of use. The treble opened up slightly and the bass/lower-mids leaned out a bit. This was a welcome and much needed change, as they simply sounded too dark when they were new. Quality of amplification matters too, as I've found they scale reasonably well with better amps. They would clearly pair well with a bright sounding solid state amp, but my slightly warm sounding Channel Islands VHP2 coaxes dynamics and details out of them that cheaper amps could not despite having a sonic signature that makes them sound even darker.

5Really nice sound
By BigPapiT
These headphones sound so good, I had to re tune my home theater. The level of detail is amazing. You would not believe the things that go on in the background during live recordings. I use these mainly while playing video games late at night as not to disturb my family. They are a little big and a little heavy but that is more than compensated for with the sound quality. Great product at a great price and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for some nice headphone at a reasonable price. Oh yeah, the build quality far exceeds some more expensive ones that I previously owned. If you are picky and stuck on the more expensive brands, you are passing up a great product.

5Excellent headphones worth your consideration
By Art Griggs
I have used several brands of headphones and I keep coming back to Koss. I am enjoying their latest model, the MV1, the most. The overall sound quality is excellent - uncolored, accurate and with a surprisingly deep base response. When not in use the "cups" turn making storage easier. When in use they are "forgettably" comfortable. (With prolonged use any headphone can become irritating and one starts to fidget with them - I find that happens far less with the MV1.) They're certainly the best looking headphones I have used. Included are a Koss case making storage simple (no dangling cord) and both sizes of phone plugs. The Koss MV1 Stereo Headphones are a definite recommended buy, more so condsidering the price here at Amazon.

4GREAT guitar, especially for the price.
By Jensen Lee
I found this bass on Musician's Friend and ordered it there originally; it had great reviews from an assortment of players and the nuclear green color looked amazing. I ended up canceling my order with MF because of just how popular this guitar is- They had to put a 30-day backorder notice on it.I paid the extra to get Amazon to ship it sooner and it was well worth it! The green is even sharper in person. I have never seen an instrument this color before.I have it plugged into my Fender 60w Rumble Bass amp and I get a really full sound. It's great, especially for the price! My complaints are minimal, especially for just how affordable this made-in-China guitar is. I have a small fret buzz that I'll probably be spending [...] bucks or so to fix and the jack is making my sound fuzz a wee bit. It's unnoticed when actually playing with another guitar, though (Yes, I checked! :) ). Keeping in mind you're only spending [...] bucks on a guitar, this bass' tone is GREAT.It's solid, great-looking, and a wonderful size for a medium-sized player (I'm 5'5'' and it's perfect). I love playing it and it's going to make a great impression on the stage.

5awesome color, great tone, good playability

i got this bass to do recording for my metal band, and it sounds great on recording and when played live. The color is much brighter in person and looks awesome. Great tone and am very pleased with how little i had to pay for it

3Good value for price
By PowerPoint
Guitar is really good, especially for this price, but tuning machines are all screwed up. Two of them broke, so I had to replace them, so when you're buying the guitar keep that expense in your mind.

3Convenient, but overpriced.
By Pasadena Resident
It would be extremely convenient to get this set for your first master cleanse. The items are all correct to maximize your results, and it takes much of the guesswork out of the equation for beginners. My only issue is that similar items can be purchased somewhere like Whole Foods for far less, around $40 individually. Still, beginners who are unfamiliar with what to buy could do far worse than this set.

5This really works
By Gizmo
I did The Master Cleanse for 10 days about 6 months ago and I can tell you it really works. I felt great! I am now living in an extremely remote place and tried to do this again but failed after the first couple of days, but I think it was because I wasn't using the prescribed ingredients. I couldn't find Senna tea, so I used laxative pills. I had sea salt, but not the right kind, and I also didn't have Grade B organic maple syrup, just regular Grade A. I am wanting to try this again, so this time I'm ordering this kit, which seems like a fair price since it includes everything you need. Only thing I have to say about this kit is that you could probably use more like 80 oz. of syrup, not 64.Overall, give this cleanse a fair shot and I promise you will not be disappointed!

5Everything I needed. Great quality!
By Lexita
I did the Master Cleanse for 20 days and this kit had everything I needed for a great price and at Amazon's very low shipping cost it was a great deal. These are the highest quality products recommended and while you may certainly deviate, I chose to follow the advice of thousands of others (catalogued in Peter Glickman's book, Lose Weight, Have More Energy & Be Happier in 10 Days) who had already done the Master Cleanse. You may find these products in high quality health food stores in big cities (though probably not at this package deal!). I live in a rural area and so obtaining these items online was more convenient for me.

Dean humbuckers and Tune-o-Matic bridge.

What would a Dean be without the headstock?

Paulownia Body Paulownia is an increasingly popular substitute for mahogany in more affordable guitar models. It's a fast-growing, hearty tree native to Japan and Southeast Asia, and has traditionally been used for Asian string instruments.

As a lightweight, porous body wood, Paulownia is somewhat similar to swamp ash in its sonic signature: very resonant, with plenty of chime and a nice, tight low-end.

Bolt-On Construction Bolt-on neck construction provides an affordable alternative to set-neck or thru-body designs. The advantage of this design is that if you do have any neck trouble down the line, you can easily replace it.

The ML Knight features a maple neck and an ultra-playable 22-fret rosewood fingerboard, with classic dot inlays.

Dean Humbucker Pickups To capture the biting tones of vintage Deans, the company includes two of its standard humbuckers. These pickups provide more than enough bite for modern styles, along with plenty of low-end and midrange definition. The standard three-way selector allows bridge, neck, or a combination. Each pickup gets a volume pot, and they share the tone control.

Grover Tuners If you play guitar then you know what this means--solid, dependable tuning from the industry standard. These guitar machines are a triumph in engineering and style, with a gear ratio of 14:1, perfect gear meshing, and zero backlash and slippage. The gear box has a special lubricant for lifetime, trouble-free service.

Tune-o-Matic Bridge The Tune-o-Matic bridge with string-thru body design provides serious sustain, along with precise intonation for your tuning preference. The classic v-shaped plate mirrors the headstock wings for some nice vintage Dean style.

5Excellent product
By Ziggy
I purchased Toca's Djembe as part of Amazon's Gold Box Deals. I've played drums for 15+ years and this is my first time owning/playing a Djembe. Here are my thoughts after playing around with my new Djembe for the two hours...Quality: From looking thru the bottom, you can see that Djembe is made from a single piece of solid mahogany. As such, the entire piece is very light and easy to carry. The shell has a great texture to it and came bound tight so it's ready to play. The black roping shown in the picture is a nylon rope (or at least it feels similar to the nylon rope my brother uses when climbing), which is intricately wrapped around the shell and top cavity. The roping feels a little out of place, seems a natural fiber would provide a more authentic look and feel. The woodwork is well oiled and I do not see it requiring much maintenance, the goatskin shell I expect will require occasional oiling to maintain sound quality.Sound: The Djembe head is quality craftsmanship and was very firm when struck. Bass notes have a solid deepness that echoes for a moment, Open notes are very crisp. I'm no expert but I love the way it sounds.Artwork/Aesthetics: I like the simple, hand painted vryheid (simple instrument, simple art) and the piece is no bigger than a side table. I bought this not only for the functional sound but wanted a musical conversation piece in my living room... the Djembe does both.Think Green: The fact that the wood is harvested from renewable forests and government certified was a major selling point. When unpackaged there was no strong chemical smell and the product has a very natural feel (aside from the rope).Overall: Given I spent under $100 for what I perceive to be quality product, I am really happy with my purchase. My Djembe is sitting next to my love seat and I look forward to have a few friends come to house and see who is the first to pick up and play a couple notes.Hope you found this helpful. Anke djé, anke bé.UPDATE: 09/30/12It's been 6 months and still happy with my purchase. My friends and I watched a video on how to create different notes and spent an evening playing and experimenting with all the sounds and rhythms.

5great value
By Jonathan Trigg
This is very nearly as good an instrument as a three hundred dollar djembe from Guinea, Senagal or Mali. The weight of the wood is certainly worth the warmth and focus of the tone - the 'plastic' instruments have a very ringy quality that I don't like at all. I don't like the toca logo on the head. Its this cheap because toca have discontinued this model. I know that the drum is currently on sale on the toca website for over three hundred dollars. (that is NOT a good deal at all.)I want to make a general point about these more traditional instruments: the rope tuning system is better - both more convenient and more musical - than the modern tuning systems that require a metal tool. There's a very simple weave pattern that you can find on you tube that allows you to fine tune the drum very easily indeed.

5Great sound!
By oavila
Bought this for my husband who wants to learn how to play. It's a heavy piece, but that doesn't bother the hubby who will just play it at home. It's got a great sound, and is lovely when you actually see it in your hands and in your home. My husband loves it and was very impressed with this gift.

They say there light , not for me just perfect. and my back hurts. so thank god for them not being to heavy. And to top it off; you can't beat the price.

I researched these speakers to the fullest before the purchase and found out that Jamo is a part of the Klipsch family, that should be enough said right there. These speakers rock.

Dime It The late great Dimebag Darrell is a serious metal guitar hero, and Dean's series of Dimebag models pays homage. Dimebag started playing Dean ML style guitars in the late '70s, and made it one of the most recognizable shapes today. Dean offers a wide variety of Dimebag models to choose from, all boasting Dimebag's distinctive look and tons of mojo and attitude.

Mahogany Body As with the original models, Dean uses a mahogany body for this Razorback. Mahogany is a common choice for electrics, dependably delivering a warm, full tone with plenty of punch and sustain. And of course it looks great with the hand-airbrushed, distressed Rebel flag.

Set Neck Construction This axe features a set mahogany neck, which imparts all the well-known advantages of that style: a warmer overall tone with extended low-end response, wicked sustain, and easy upper-fret access (enhanced even further by the cutaways).

The 24-3/4-inch scale neck features a rosewood fingerboard, decorated with arrow inlays and a "Dime razor" inlay at the 12th fret.

Seymour Duncan Dimebucker Bridge Pickup Seymour's SH-13 Dimebuckers were designed with the man himself to provide serious output and an aggressive tone. The Dimebucker uses a powerful ceramic magnet and stainless steel blades for serious crunch. The SH-13 boasts more treble bite than a lot of humbuckers, along with low-end punch and exceptional dynamics.

A Dean "Dimetime" humbucker completes the package up in the neck position, with each pickup getting its own volume conrol, along with a shared tone and three-way toggle.

Original Floyd Rose Tremolo System The patented and often imitated double-locking design of the Floyd Rose Tremolo System allows you to lock your guitar in tune at the nut and at the bridge. Engineered like no other tremolo system, the Floyd's high-quality steel parts are manufactured to exacting specifications. Beat it up as much as you want--from traditional vibrato to dive bombing leads or flapping loose strings, and stay in tune while you do it.

DBD Traction Knobs Dimebag always rocked his "traction knobs," which he created by taking a soldering iron to them, for knobs that are grippable no matter how much sweat's pouring off you on stage. Dean faithfully recreates that here.

all i can say is the dean dixie rebel i bought two years ago IS bad-ass (ok, so i am a life-long dean fanatic... but, so what!). i am telling you i absolutely love my rebel.. sounds bad ass, PLAYS bad-ass, IS bad-ass...over and above the fact that it is a quality made guitar and sounds sweet as hell is the fact that you are GUARANTEED attention and comments when playing it due to the rebel flag paint job
