Best Juicer for Citrus
By Mid-Century Todd
I live in So Cal and my parents have lots of citrus trees in their backyard and my condo complex in Palm Springs is filled with amazing citrus trees. We have fresh juice for at least 6 months of the year, so I juice all the time. Mostly grapefruit, oranges and tangelos. Sometimes lemons. I have this juicer in PS and just bought it again for my parents. The motor is strong and very quiet, It only actuates as you press down, so you don't have that annoying loud grinding noise going on constantly that you get from other juicers where you just flip a switch. It's every fast and easy to clean and all the removable parts are dishwasher safe on the top rack. The best citrus juicer I'd ever found is no longer made. I have a Bosch Porsche Design machine that I bought several years ago. Bosch sold its appliance division to Siemens, and for a while, the Porsche design unit was sold by Siemens, but only in Europe. Now you can't find it anywhere. The motor in my old Bosch (at least 5 years old) is still strong, plastics holding up and brushed aluminum exterior still looks great. My Bosch juicer was the quietest and it had a special button that spun the strainer to get more juice out while not having to clean it out. When I looked for the juicer again and found it simply wasn't available I tried a few other juicers before I stumbled on the Alessi unit. It's lighter and the chrome is plastic chrome, but it's the best unit I've found that meets my needs, works very well and doesn't wake the neighborhood when in use. I've had the first unit for more than 2 years now with no problems at all. That's why i bought it again as a gift for my parents.

best juicer ever!
By Alyce Henness
This is possibly the best juicer around. It's incredibly sturdy and stays put even when juicing grapefruits, it's sooo easy to clean (which was always a problem with juicers in the past) and it's stylish to boot!

Beauty and Durability rolled into one.
By E-SM
I thought this juicer was a little pricey but I purchased it because I use a lot of limes and it's very hard to extract juice from them. This juicer passed the test with flying colors. The filter is 5.50 inches in diameter which allows me to juice large grapefruits. I find that I can control the juicing process much better when I press the fruit on the cone myself as opposed to using a lever. The cone has sharp ridges - although I would have preferred a stainless steel cone as opposed to resin - and a pointed tip which keeps the fruit in place as you press the juice out. With it's 60Hertz 90 Watt motor you don't have to press hard, to activate it and it starts juicing right away. Cleaning? a breeze just 4 parts and since it's stainless steel and polished resin, just shake it in soapy water, rinse, and wipe or let drain dry if you wish. You can put it in the dishwasher but the company tells you that it will not have that shiny polished look after awhile. I prefer to swish it in warm soapy water because it's a beautiful centerpiece on my counter.
