They heat water instantaneously as it flows through the unit. Stand-by losses are completely eliminated. The heating elements are controlled by a flow switch and by an exclusive scald-guard thermostat, which keeps the water temperature within safe limits at all times. In addition, the DHC water heaters are equipped with a safety high-limit with manual reset. The rugged all copper design ensures many years of reliable service. The models DHC 3-1, DHC 3-2 and DHC 4-2 are shipped with 0.5 GPM pressure compensating flow reducer/aerators that fit on most faucets. Stiebel Eltron DHC 6-2 Electric Water Heater

I have been researching purchasing a point of use water heater for quite some time. I needed one in my kitchen to provide hot water to the kitchen sink and dish washer. After many searches I decided on this unit based on it description and installation instructions. It is very small that does not take up any space compared to a tank heater.I was able to install the unit quickly and it worked great the first time out. It was easy to adjust the water temperature and leaves allot of room under the sink for storage. This is a 240 unit and requires at 30amp breaker.I would recommend this unit to anyone and might purchase another in the future. Customer Service is very professional and responded quickly to some questions that I had.

Purchased DHC 6-2 in April, 2010. Worked as advertised for 2 1/2 years in our 860 sq.ft. condo. It has been the exclusive source of hot water for us. Provided one doesn't shower while another hot water faucet is activated, this unit is sufficient. Now the thermal cut out has been tripping, not the electrical service panel. Waiting to find out from electrician if it can be salvaged. Perhaps 2.5 years is all that's to be expected from this unit. Hopefully not, though the Stiebel Eltron USA people say there's a 3-year warranty on the heating element. Not sure if that has failed. Still have a favorable impression of the product.

I purchased the Stiebel Eltron DHC 6-2 for use in our new outdoor kitchen. It provides plenty of hot water for food preparation and for clean up and is small enough to be completely hidden within the kitchen island. It is mounted so that when winter comes I can easily disconnect the unit and move it indoors if there is a danger of a hard freeze. I also used Stiebel Eltron tankless water heaters when remodeling our home last year. Great products!
