Waste time ,money and safety

I live in Japan.So I bought this with RO-PURE STAGE4(RO-4) for Fukushima's accident.At first It didn't contain diagram for RO-4,only for old RO system.I must requested correct diagram by e-mail and had to wait 10 days for answer.Next,I installed zero-waste but it decrease TDS about 40-60%.supplied water's TDS was 77-125PPM and pure?water's TDS was 30-55PPM(led alarm on RO faucet keep blue flashing(means OK),so,I know that We can't know the membrane efficiency from led alarm).WATTS's mail said "Everything appears connected properly." and couldn't identify the reason.I requested advise for Japanese RO professional,he said zero-waste is wired system for riskiness'about drain error.Back pressure from hot water supply may brake water prresure balance at membrane.So I gave up zero waste and make drain as free running,then TDS decrease to 4PPM soon.Finally,zero-waste work only as booster pump.and I doubt WATTS's assessment for this system. They checked TDS?Anyway You'd get booster pump instead of zero-waste.If You insist zero-waste,get TDS meter and check carefully for your health.

Zero Waste RO System

Once the system is installed it works well. The diagram that comes with the system does not apply to all Watts RO systems. Additional diagrams were not available online from Watts. I emailed their service department, told them what RO system I had, and they responded that the zero waste system I bought would not work with my Watts RO system.Thankfully a phone call to the technical department resulted in a new diagram with some modifications and we were able to complete installation. The transformer that came with the system was faulty. But, with the proof of the purchase of a new transformer from Radio Shack, Amazon credited our account for $30 which was fair.

I installed this to cut down on the waste water going down the drain from our RO system. Water is expensive and getting worse all the time in my area. What took the longest was running a new dedicated electrical outlet underneath my sink. It works well and does make the hot water cold for a brief period when it is running, but nothing to worry about. I've had this in place for less than 6 months and have not noticed a significant reduction in water usage like I expected, but I think in time it will pay for itself. Mfg needs to be contacted as the included instructions did not work with my system. They respond quickly. Hopefully that parts will last for years to come.
