Surprisingly good quality, unique mask.

I first started looking at this thinking that it was something I'd use finswimming in the pool to prevent swimmers' ear, but not something I'd use in the ocean. I changed my mind on that when it significantly outperformed my Cressi Sub Minima. It leaks less (nearly never), has not yet once fogged in the water, lets in more light than the cressi's dark silicone and keeps your ears dry so you can hear much more clearly underwater. It even makes equalizing easier. Other reviews mention that the seal over the ears is essential and that short hair is critical to that - I've no doubt short hair makes it easier, but I have relatively long hair and have no problem with the ear cups. I'd also recommend their hood, which comes with two layers over the top of the head, one with holes for the earcups, and the other which fits over the previous. Be prepared to look like a WWII era fighter pilot with the hood and mask, but that's not a bad thing. It certainly becomes well worth it when you dive into the cold CA waters.

I have perforated ear drums, so scuba diving would of been out of the question.I was able to use the pro-ear 2000 with little to no issues.To ensure I got a good seal around my ear, I had my barber shave the hair around my ear and I would use a little Vaseline to help the seal. I went on 5 dives with these in Maui and Cancun and they worked great. Yes you will feel a little water trickle in, but without the outside forces that would of allowed water to get into my ear canal.I have also used these for snorkeling, probably more so then diving, and they are equally beneficial. In fact I will always own a pair of pro-ear 2000's and will never snorkel or dive without a pair.

Mask actually works well

I recently bought this mask because of ear problems preventing me from going underwater. I had my doubts about this mask. I didn't think there was any way it could keep water out of my ears. To my surprise, it actually works well. It was hard to get on at first, but you get used to it. I never got any water in my ears. The mask will come off if you jump hard into the water. Other than that, the mask has always stayed on. The mask is a little tight on the face, but that is expected. The mask seems to be well built, you just have to be careful when putting it on. I would recommend this product to anyone who has ear problems. It is well worth the money to experience the underwater feeling.
