Magnificent in Its Way, But Less Than Perfect

In appearance, this floor lamp is tall, visually impressive, and, in its way, rather magnificent. The brass (or brass plating?) has a subdued glow and the shade--whose color I would call a light tan--is attractive. Functionally, the base is wide and heavy, so the lamp should be stable in normal use. The swing arm works smoothly and the three-way light is effective. Assembly is pretty simple.But the quality of the lamp isn't so careful as the picture suggests and as one might expect for the price. Specifically, on my sample, one of the spindles that ornaments the top of the column is flattened on two sides, when it should be round. I assume this is due to a lapse in craftsmanship on the part of the Chinese factory that made the lamp. Or could it be intentional--a little "distressing" to mimic the look of "antique" brass? Either way, I don't like this feature and was tempted to return the lamp for exchange because of it. However, in the end I decided to keep it. After all, my sample could be better than what would be sent in its place.Notwithstanding any flaws, this review is generally positive. Overall the lamp looks very good, although less refined than in the picture. And--perhaps most importantly--my spouse is happy with it.

Very high quality light fixture. Easy to put together. Exceeded our expectations, which were high. There is nothing cheap about this lamp. Could easily be a heirloom furniture item.

Base of lamp is very light - possibly unstable

Lamp seems to be a pretty decent product and we like the looks of it, but te base is extremely light, causing the lamp to be somewhat top-heavy. Have to be careful not to bump the upper section when turning lamp on as it tends to want to fall over.

Nice Lamp

I needed a small lamp to use on a bedroom dresser and this one really fit the bill. It small, but not too small and the base has a nice weight to it, so it won't tip over easily. Another plus, the switch is on the socket. On so many smaller lamps the switch is on the cord which is inconvenient. The only thing I changed was the shade. It was a little too rustic for the decor of the room, but would work in a room such as a den.

Gorgeous!

This light is awesome. My bathroom was going to be rustic so I ordered this light - then I found some awesome tile and changed it to Glam so I was a little worried that this light might not work. But it looks great! My friends who have seen it have nicknamed it the Taj Ma Bathroom. You won't be disappointed with this fixture.

Its nice

I do like the fixture, the only negative things I have to say are that the cover underneath looks a little cheap when you're looking up at it. Also, it is very difficult to change a light bulb because there are so many pieces that have to be unscrewed. Other than that, the look is quite nice and mostly how I expected it.
