Inspired by the beauty of a full-size concert grand, Schoenhut® Piano Company offers this exquisite miniature replica. Complete with opening top to release the lovely chime-like tones, this smaller version is designed for a child with serious musical aspirations. Each piano in the series is custom built from solid maple and ½-inch multi-ply birch, stained in mahogany or painted in your choice of white or black, with the interior hand finished to match the selected exterior. The hinge is designed to raise and lower gradually, so as not to slam down on little fingers.

Upgrade from the manufacture

We waited for months but the model we order just wasn't making it through production. Finally the company upgraded our order to this upgraded model and we had it within the week. My 1 and 3 year old LOVE it. They have both fallen off of the seat several times so I've placed it in a corner where they cannot hurt themselves more. (it's a short bench so the fall is minimal yet irritating.) The sound is odd if you are expecting a real piano sound. I wish they used the LITTLE TIKE red piano method of having xylophone bars instead of the varied length slender, TINNY, flat bars of metal. The sound would be more like the ringing xylophone bells instead of the strange timbre of tin? IT'S A TOY! It took all of 3 minutes for my 3 year old to jump back on the real piano to compare "the highest note". He knew something was just not right with the pitch and tone. So that's a good learning tool. TOY v. The real thing. It's worth having if your expectations are too high. Kids love it. That's what matters! And the manufacturer is sincerely interested in customer service.
