Multi-purpose, functional, and durable

I was in search of a tote that would serve multiple purposes to replace several bags (less = more). A friend of mine that used to travel extensively suggested Briggs & Riley - and I couldn't be happier with this purchase. This tote is good sized, good looking, and durable. I use it for my daily commute (walking, bus, train) as well as for travel and can easily carry my laptop, kindle, gym items or toiletries, etc. and still have room to spare.The quality is evident and I fully expect to use this bag for years. I've also purchased the 21 inch 1-touch carry on and the large weekender bag. Between the three, I've got the options I need for my daily commute & errands, weekend travel, and even extended trips (as a relatively efficient packer, I can use this tote + the carry on for a week long trip and not have to check a bag).Best features:-separate compartments for organization, including an interior, detachable zippered case-comfortable shoulder straps for walking-slip through pocket for sliding over a carry on handle-fully zips *too many shopping totes do not zip and I want to keep my personal items as secure as possible!

I've been looking for a travel carry-on for a while: one that's small enough to fit the under-the-seat dimensions of most planes (I already have a bag for the overhead compartment), big enough to carry all my stuff for the plane (like book, snack, headphones, ipad) and that I can also stuff my purse into. This is the first bag I found that met my needs and didn't cost a fortune. Plus, durable nylon, lots of pockets and even a zip-thru area in the back to slide over the handle of my wheeled bag. Add in the reasonable price and it's perfect. Got it in black; looks really classy.

I haven't flown in YEARS, and was worried if I could consider this a "Carry-On Bag", well I could! It held so much stuff! On my return trip I had extra room for things I bought while on vacation! I put my suitcase in the overhead and this under my seat. VERY well made! Was originally thinking of using as a beach bag but decided not to since it was such a nice quality! GET ONE!!! A MUST HAVE!
