Very good mixer for the price
By Fred
I had an Imer and have one from Husky. The Husky is an exact model for less than ½ the listed Imer price. Very nice set up but there are some issues. One is it's a little high so lifting 80# or even 60# concrete mix requires more effort. Its also top heavy so be careful not to drop it. And once dropped the barrel will deform so the mouth will look like an ellipse rather than a circle since it's made of thin mild steel. No problem, it could be bend back to a circle with a hydraulic ramp. Even when I have it at the edge of the form, a little of the mix will be dumped outside of the form and ended up next to the wheels. The knock down feature is a very nice but its hard to separate the barrel from the shaft since some of the concrete dust will get in the mating surfaces (by design) and act like an epoxy bond. You need another person or some type of breaker bar to wedge the barrel out even after lubing it with grease. Be aware, as with all mixers, the 5 cu. ft. rating is for dry material only. Mixing concrete should not be much over two 80# bags or three 60# bags, which is way under the dry volume specification. The good thing is you couldn't get a better mixer for the money. I also have the Red Lion mixer for a number of years and this mixer beat it by far. Easy to roll around, breakdown nicely (after struggling with the barrel as noted above), relatively quiet, and the motor will run forever. So far I've poured 15 yards of concrete with this mixer and I have 15 more to go for one project.

Best mixer for the money
By Dan Niederloh
Ive used these mixers at work and at home for 3+ years. The first one I used daily on a jobsite, mixing cement for building rockwalls. You simply cannot overload this mixer! It lasted for over 2 years and finally the barrel wore too thin and began to leak.Unfortunately, the replacement didn't last very long. It fell over while mixing and bent the motor shaft. So I attached the new barrel to the old mixer and used it on and off for another 2 years. Finally the seals gave out and water got into the housing. I'm getting my third now. I hope they are still manufactured with the same quality. If not I'll amend this reveiw. Just make sure the mixer is on stable ground as it wobbles a bit with a full load.

Fantastic mixer, paid for itself in one job!
By Wise_Guy
I love mine.I bought this for small/medium concrete jobs around my house. Because of the shape of my lot, the only way to get concrete in the back yard is either to mix it in place of have it pumped. Well it cost nearly $500 just to have the pumper guy show up so I saved enough on the pumper to pay for the mixer on the first job. Being able to schedule the work for my own convenience was a bonus. This thing will mix up to 3 of the 60# bags of concrete no problem. With one person running the mixer and another placing concrete, you can keep a pretty much continuous flow of concrete to the job. Mixing and placing a yard of concrete is a 2-3 hour job for out of shape middle aged homeowners. I've run about 250 bags of concrete through mine and it still runs fine. When I'm not using it, it breaks down and stores out of the way in the garden shed.
