When the bass are cruising the shallow flats and shallow creek channels in the spring you need a bait that will stay in the strike zone as long as possible yet still have enough action to entice a strike. A good choice is the soft plastic jerkbait. Our "Senko" rods are designed to fish these baits effectively for a number of reasons. longer rods create a greater casting and hook-setting radius. That means more tip-speed to initiate the hook-set and increased casting distance which is really important since the baits weigh next to nothing. It's not such a problem with the Senko or the Yum Dinger because they are the heaviest of the soft jerkbaits, but with baits like the Super Fluke, the Bass Assassin and Jerk Worm, you need a rod with a tip that will give you the ability to make nice long casts so you can cover more water, along with enough power to set the hook, even when they're out there "a country mile". We offer two levels of performance. The MossyBack rods are our mid-priced models and feature our proprietary "fiber-blend" construction with Fuji guides and reel seats. Our incredibly light and sensitive GlX models feature RECOIl guides, known for their light weight and durability, along with Fuji reel seats. Beautiful Rod with the perfect height and action for just about anything.

I bought this rod to bank fish with while im traveling and it is awesome. Its a full 7'5" to give you just a little better angle to work worms and light casting jigs with from the bank or boat for that matter. The tip and action is very fast as advertised and yet its still got enough medium heavy power to pitch baits with and pull fish from heavy cover.I wanted to carry 1 Rod and my tackle bag and get a little sun and exercise while on the road and this rod is perfect for all around use whether you tie on a senko, a light worm or jig, or rattle trap or even crank or spinnerbait. The Rod is light, sensitive and it should be for 255$.I cannot bring myself to spend more than 300$ for a rod or reel for that matter but I do like to fish with high quality products. You know youll get that with a gloomis rod paired with a shimano reel.Hope this helps someone. Sam
