nice product
By valpro
These are nice biodegradable bowls made of sugar-cane fiber. (No they do not contain sugar crystals-- just fiber). They are a great alternative to paper bowls which contain chemicals and pollute the environment. I have bought these bowls over and over, and obviously I like them a lot. The plates are great too. If you don't want to buy them here, you may also be able to find them at Whole Foods and Wild Oats. But as usual, Amazon has the best deals.

Sturdy, Holds Liquid & a value
By NoSmallStir
Best disposable bowl we have every encountered. We don't like plastic or styrfoam, not only for the environmental reasons, but also healthwise, plastic is not good to use with warm foods and liquids. Other paper products are too flimsy or don't hold liquid well. These bowls are quite sturdy and even while holding soup, they maintain their strength and shape. We have the full line of stalkmarket products now. Bowls, plates, cups and are very pleased and continue to reorder them.

A bit small but they work well
By Helen J. Casper
Despite being a family that recycles, we go through paper plates and bowls at an alarming rate. Because of this, I decided to try the Stalkmarket bowls and see how they worked for us. They are quite a bit more economical than the bowls we buy in the store and I like that they are from recycled sugar cane fiber. The only drawback is that the 16" bowls are smaller than the 20" bowls we normally buy in the store. Because of this, I can't fit an entire can of Progresso soup entirely in one bowl. However, this is a small price to pay for how well they work. The bowls stay strong even where some other paper bowls fall apart (e.g. when steaming vegetables). I've refrigerated, frozen, microwaved, and had liquids in these bowls- they have stayed strong and never broken on me.
