Clarke welders pack a lot of punch for the money. I own a 190en and have used a 180en. Both will put out some serious heat. If you're welding structural steel, certainly between 18 gauge and 3/8", possibly up to 1/2" with right techniques, this is a good choice. Both models have 6 heat settings, quite a lot for this style voltage selector, this 180 has a high/low range switch with 3 position dial whereas the 190 has a 6 position dial.Negatives include the low duty cycle (something like 10% at 140 amps), although I've definitely gone over that without tripping overload. Be aware that it will burn through anything thinner than 18ga steel. Good deals can be had though!

Unpleasnt surprise!

Very happy with the order in all aspects. However, I was truly upset to find that the company that makes the product has been out of business for some time. Parts and warranty are out of the question. Would have been nice to know this before I placed the order for two machines.
