5An excellent screen for your home theater
By DrNegative
I bought this screen along with the Optoma HD20 High Definition 1080p DLP Home Theater Projector (Grey) for my home theater and it shows a fabulous picture.Out of the box it was well assembled and the only thing required of me were my own mounting screws. I was pleased to see an RF and IR remote included for operating the screen as well as the optional wall mount switch with an optional 12V toggle.Installation was simple, my friend and I mounted it to wall studs and finished in about 30 minutes. Like I said, all you need to buy are your choice of mounting screws as the case ships fully assembled and ready to mount. It takes about 40 seconds for the screen to completely lower or raise up. This is by design since this isn't a tensioned screen. If the motor were too fast, the screen might get folded up during rolling and cause a nasty crease or wrinkle like a window shade that went up too fast. The slow retraction makes sure this doesn't happen. This doesn't bother me anyway because it takes me longer than that to warm up the projector and find a Blu-Ray to watch. The electric motor is very quiet too as a bonus. The quality of the screen material was astounding. I had heard some users having wrinkled screens but my screen turned out nice and smooth. Colors and blacks turn out nicely on it when watching movies. Let me tell you also, 150 inches of real-estate looks flat-out beautiful. Words cannot describe it.I have to give this a 5-star rating because it exceeded what my original expectations were and has really enhanced my home theater experience for a really good price. Good luck.

5Enhanced image quality considerably.
By Kari Berg
This projection screen increased the image quality considerably as well as the home theater experience. You would not believe how much of a jump in quality it is from going from a white dry painted wall to this 150 inch screen! Took about 45 minutes to install. I am very satisfied with my purchase and this product.

4Great for the Price
By T. Atkins
The Elite Screens VMAX 2 150" 16:9 screen is priced right and a decent screen for that price. My first screen arrived Damaged, crushed by something. Amazon quickly replaced the screen and the new one arrived OK. That is one of the issues with a screen like this, the bulky nature (6in x 6in x 12ft) makes shipping a hazard as it can be damaged along the way. The packaging for the screen is adequate if handled with care, but delicate enough to take on damage without a lot of effort while in transit. The screen came packed in a single-wall cardboard box with 1 inch wide, 1 inch thick foam rings placed around the screen every foot or so. The box adds little support against impacts or the screen being bent or stepped on.As the screen's build goes, it's VERY compact, much smaller than some of the other motorized screens I have encountered in various offices or churches. That is a good thing in my book, as it hides away easily. The only negative is the screen is made from a rather thing-gauge sheet metal can be bent by hand if you are not careful and you have to handle it with care when hanging it, as it will flex easily. The end-caps have mounting screw options for just about any situation, so hanging it is a breeze. The whole unit weighs only 40lbs, so one person can actually pick it up and move it around, but you really need two people to hang it without damaging it.As electronics go, it is rather simple in design. It has a very small motor unit to raise and lower the screen that is very quiet, barely audible. It is rather slow, taking a good 60 seconds to raise or lower. The power cable has a 3-prong plug ready to go, but is only 4 feet in length, so you will need a ceiling outlet for it. The Screen offers the best selection of raising and lowering options I have seen, with both RF and IR remotes, hardwired remotes, IR Sensors and a 12volt Turn on, all that are ready to use and plug into an RJ45 plug on the end cap of the screen. Bravo on that one.The screen itself is a thick vinyl material, akin to something you would find in a roll-up blind. It is black on the back side and has a nice border that surrounds the white screen material. The material itself on my screen had some very minor waves in it, right out of the box, which is common on a large format screen like this without tensioning. With the projector on (Epson 8100) they were invisible. The image provided by the screen is quite nice and has a wide field of view and the gain seems to be spot on with the rating.Overall, I give the screen itself high marks, as well as the remote options and compact design. The low points that drag this screen down a bit are how slowly it operates, the flimsy casing metal and the poor packaging that adds a Lot of shipping "anxiety".
