Product Description

Hawk Performance’s HP Plus brake pad compound is ideal for Autocross and Track Day drivers looking for a high performance race compound that can take the heat of the track and get you home safely without having to change the pads. HP Plus utilizes a unique Ferro-Carbon, high-tech friction material that was developed and manufactured for sport driving in autocross, Solo II and “track day” applications. The Ferro-Carbon formulation offers lower wear rates and higher torque values than other competitive materials. Extremely high coefficient of friction makes HP Plus the perfect upgrade over stock for high performance streetcars used in autocross competition or that experience repetitive, heavy braking. Warning: Due to the dramatic friction levels produced by this product to achieve "race-level" braking, rotor wear, noise, dust and pad life may be affected. Note: Hawk Performance burnishes its HP Plus brake pads as a final step in the factory, but all brake pads have to be bedded-in with the rotors (new or used) that they will be used against. Properly bedding-in new brake pads results in a transfer film being generated at the pad and rotor interface to maximize brake performance.

Great performance upgrade for the Jeep WJ, the ceramics have good stopping power and great pedal feel. I have had the HPS on my XJ now for 4+ years,awesome products and worth the extra bucks. Do it right the first time use quality rotors and these pads and you will be amazed.

Matches Original Exactly, Fast Shipping

This fit perfectly in my 2000 VW GTI VR6 and looks virtually identical to the original.I cut off about 4 inches of the end of the pipe to fit with the "wraparound" type pipe union that was in place. The last few inches of the original pipe were slightly enlarged and split to fit over another pipe. It was difficult to get the pipe over the car body strut, and I think it would have been even harder if I had not cut off the 4 inches. When I was all done, and I shook the whole muffler system, I could make it bang against the car body at one point. Ideally I would have torn it all apart and cut off about another 3/8 inch, but I'll see if it makes noise on the road.I ordered on a Monday and it came by noon on Thursday, even though the estimate was Friday. The "your order has shipped" email came AFTER I received the muffler!The buying page said that myautopartswholesale was the seller, but the rest of the communications said AutoShepard. Perhaps they are the same company.

Smooth Stopping Power

These Hawk brake pads perform amazingly. I installed them myself on my 2007 Hyundai Sonata Limited V6. I see little to no brake fade with them. They will take a few thousand miles to fully break in; however the brake power is there from install. I have seen a slight increase in brake dust on my wheels from OEM but it cleans off easily. I rather have confident stopping power and deal with the dust. I wash my car weekly anyway...I would definately install these again. Amazon also had one best prices I could find from a trusted seller.

According to Hawk Performance website, there was supposed to be a Grease pack that come with the pads to stop the brakes from making noise. I did not receive the grease.

What Can I Say, Great Braking for the Street

This is the 4th time I've used Hawk HP Plus brake pads, and I am an avid fan. I've tried Porterfield R4S, OEM BMW Jurid, and Hawk HPS, all of which I felt performed below the Hawk HP Plus for street use. I use these primarily for the street on my BMW E46 M3, but have also used at the track before. However these are more meant for the street or autocross but not for track use as the pad material will not withstand high operating temperatures from repetitive hard braking in extreme conditions as your track/race only brake pads would and will show signs of fade. For the track, I use a race only full metallic brake pad Performance Friction 01 (PFC01), the Hawk equivalent of this would be the HT10 or DTC70 (I haven't used hawk race pads before though).However this pad isn't for everyone, as it dusts alot (a day with these is equal to a week with normal oem pads as far as dust is concerned), and if you put them on the rear, they will squeak as loud as a bus. Up front the brakes only make a minor high pitched squeak, barely noticeable. As far as braking, it has excellent cold bite (keep in mind I live on the west coast where it's warmer than the east coast), and brakes well when you're in a spirited mood in your daily/weekend driving with 80-10mph freeway off ramp stops.

After calling nearly auto parts store within a 30 mile radius, with the lowest quote of nearly $300 for the converter only (my car will not accept a universal-fit converter), I knew that I could find one on Amazon.
