I use it mostly for hanging wet quilts to dry and saddle blankets, and it is strong enough for that.

I love my retractable clothesline. I don't know why I went so many years without one. I hang my clothes outside during the warm months, but during the winter I had been hanging clothes all over the furniture(not a very pretty sight). I have hung the clothesline in the basement. Works great, and when you don't want it in sight just retract. Thanks.

5-Line retractable clothesline

I purchased this for my wife, who wanted that old-timey smell and feel of clothes hung out the was they used to be. The product arrived in good shape, and it was very easy to install...I didn't buy the associated pole that was offered with the item, but instead used a treated 4X4 so I could put a birdhouse on top of it. The cords retract just fine, and we are very happy with the smell of the clothes we have hung out, especially the bedding!
