This is a well made lamp

This is a quality product. I have used it on my sailboat for a couple of years without any issues. The entire lamp does get extremely hot -- it will burn you if you touch any part of the lamp after it has run for more than a few minutes.

The wrong lamp and no good way to right the problem.

The Weems & Plath yacht oil lamp was intended to be used on a sailing boat but what I received was a beautiful 5" Weems & Plath anchor lamp. It is easy enough to return but the time spent wading through the refund process frustrates me. I wish I could talk to a real person with the authority to allow me to have this beautiful lamp packaged and sent back to Amazon. Simultaneously I wished the correct lamp could be sent so Amazon could be made whole (remember, the lamp I received is valued at about $ 250.00 more than what I paid for) and I would have the lamp I need for my sailboat without the complex return process.The Weems & Plath 5" achor lamp is valued at $ 364.00. The lamp I ordered is valued at just over $ 100.00.
