Best probiotic supplement I've tried

This product is actually a blend of 7 different probiotics, more than I've seen in any other supplement. And unlike other probiotics you only need to take one per day. They do not require refrigeration so the bottle doesn't get burried in the fridge like some other acidophilus products and you can take them on trips without having to worry about keeping them refrigerated. I have seen them work wonders in friends with irritable bowel, GI infections and anitbiotic related distress and I really believe they have helped strengthen my immune system. The intestinal tract is the largest immune organ in the body and keeping the gut healthy helps keep the body healthy. I highly recommend this product to anyone looking to supplement their diet with probitoics for digestive and immune health.

As other reviewers have said, this is one of the most comprehensive probiotics out there. It's shelf stabilized, so it doesn't require refrigeration. What that means, as with any of the other shelf stabilized probiotics, is it has food in the pill to keep the bacteria alive (the alternative, of course, is to refrigerate the pills/bacteria so that they don't die).A little background: probiotics are beneficial bacteria normally found in the gut (along with yeast, which are supposed to be in a balance - both are essential to digesting food). Because of of modern living, most notably the prevalence of anti-biotics use, we kill much of our own beneficial bacteria which can disturb our digestion. It's often suggested that we take a probiotic when digestion is not good (I also take a probiotic shortly after I use anti-biotics to restore the beneficial bacteria that tends to get killed during a course of antibiotic use). Some people eat yogurt, but that's less effective. My doctor recommended this brand to me and it has almost every strain commonly found in a healthy gut. Many of the other probiotics have less of the strains (and, as with everyhing in the body, it's all about the right proportions and balance).Anyway, some of the shelf-stabilized probiotics have a food (again, to keep the bacteria alive as a way of shelf-stabilizing the product) in them that actually doesn't work well for people. The food that keeps the bacteria alive can give people gas and other discomfort (often, because the food also feeds yeast which impeeds digestion and causes the gas). This particular probiotic has a food that doesn't seem to cause any of those problems so it's even more effective and has no side-effects.

I've had a myriad of health issues of the past ten years... low energy, joint pain, fatigue, just feeling 'off'. I'd taken an antidepressant, tried supplements, but they always made me feel worse. Finally saw a naturopathic MD and they recommended this product after finding that I had bacterial dysbiosis. I was already skeptical about the whole thing, but I started small, and opened a capsule and took about 1/5 of the pill. I'm on day three, and when I worked out today, I thought, 'I'm not as tired. Weird.' But, good weird. And, tonight, I did a double-take in the mirror, because my skin is glowing and pink. My circulation is better -- my veins are open, and I feel like I have more energy and I'm just... more well-balanced. I know that it's kind of pricey, but give it a try. I hope that this feeling continues, because I feel more like the old me again.
