5Nice sound, and look.
By David Rhoads II
Installed on my '96 Miata. I was a little uncertain about the larger exhaust tip, not wanting the car to look like it had some high school kids fart can on it. Once installed it looked pretty good, any larger and it would look like a cheap fart can. At high throttle you can definately tell it has better flow as the sound becomes a bit aggressive. General driving around the sound is only slightly louder and not at all intrusive. At certain RPMs with steady state driving there is a slight drone, but it's not bad. Overall a good product!

5High quality but not loud enough
By ipitydafool
I have a 1995 Mazda Miata & the stock exhaust is just too quiet so I was thinking of the Borla or the Magnaflow. The Borla is more expensive and I found this used Magnaflow on Amazon for around 25% off its regular price. I took it to my mechanic, it is not a simple bolt on procedure. He had to take my car to a welding shop where there cut off the stock exhaust & welded this large diameter pipe. My mechanic only charged me $90.00 for all this. The muffler & exhaust tip itself is heavy stainless steel and very well made, the welds are fantastic. When idling it has a very low "burble" that you cannot even hear. As you pass near around 3K RPM's it gets noticeably louder. I could tell the performance increase right off the bat. The throttle response is much quicker & the car revs much faster & higher. I would say there is about a 15% increase in power & does not feel as sluggish & slow reving as it did with the stock exhaust. The only thing I don't like is that the Magnaflow is TOO quiet. I did not want a super loud exhaust but I want to feel & hear the exhaust. Its of course louder with the top down but with the top up you can barely hear it. On the internet they say that it will get louder with time but I think it actually got quieter with time or maybe I am just used to the sound. In hindsight if you like a louder exhaust I would go with the Borla.

592 Mazda Miata Muffler
By William W. Bubb
I purchased a 92 Miata off eBay 4 years ago and replaced the muffler with a what I thought was a reasonably priced exhaust system. Well the old saying penny wise and dollar foolish applied to this purchase. Within a year the baffles in the muffler were rattling and the chrome on the muffler tip was peeling. So I was out the original $225 and back to square one after just a short period of time. The next time around I purchased a Magnaflow "stainless steel" cat-back system thru Amazon and its working like advertised. The Magnaflow is a quality product, so don't be penny wise like me and buy the cheapest muffler on the block, get a Magnaflow product.
