Got this for my 2005 Mazda 3 to use the audio input. Can't speak to the iphone connection, but the RCA to 1/8" headphone plug works great!

I primarily use this to play Sirius/XM radio and once and a while will use it to play iPhone/iPod. It works great! I had it installed at Best Buy for $50.00. For whatever reason, at first the right side speakers would go in and out while using but that problem went away and it's been working great for about a year. Highly recommend. Used in a 2006 Mazda 6.
